We run off road rides every Sunday morning which start at 9 AM from the South Down Bikes shop car park in Storrington. All are welcome. All riders must wear a helmet and must ensure their bicycles are in a suitably maintained condition.
We cater for all abilities with both a general ride and a beginner/novice ride leaving at the same time. Please check our forum page for details on specific logistical alterations to these rides as they may start from different locations on the day depending on preferred routes.
The routes are decided upon on the morning of the ride (in the car park :)) but generally consist of a 2 hour to 4 hour loop taking in the the trails, climbs, bridleways, singletrack and spectacular scenery of the South Downs.
Riders have the option to do a shorter loop if time (or fitness) is limited.
We hold regular Wednesday night rides from the Shop in Storrington. The routes and duration of the night rides are similar to those for the Sunday rides. During the darker months (Winter, early spring and late autumn) riders must come equipped with lights for their bikes. Check this site for updates on the Wednesday night rides as they can be affected by weather.
We also participate in a night ride hosted by the South Downs Bikes Storrington shop on the first Wednesday of very month. These rides are extremely popular with approximately 40 to 50 riders on average participating at each event. With such large numbers participating the rides are usually split the ride into three groups based on the pace of the riders. All groups set off from the shop at 18:30 sharp. These events can sometimes be impacted by adverse weather conditions so please check the forum page on this site for status updates.
